Community Management Leaders SCS and CAMS Announce Official Alliance

(Columbia, SC) – South Carolina-based community association management firm Southern Community Services (SCS) has joined forces with North and South Carolina-based Community Association Management Services (CAMS), expanding reach and offering their innovative, trusted solutions to more than 600 communities across the Carolinas.

Staffed with more than 300 accredited professionals who work diligently to accommodate the unique needs of each community, SCS and CAMS provide management solutions to over 600 community associations across the two Carolinas, from multi-tiered master-planned communities to small, single family neighborhoods.

CAMS is an industry leader in technological innovation, having developed Vantaca – the new, cutting-edge software that SCS is currently implementing across all of its community association clients. Together, SCS and CAMS will optimize processes while maintaining a keen focus on technological innovation, ultimately expanding reach in both the N.C. and S.C. markets.

On the surface, clients and homeowners can expect to see little to no change in day-to-day interactions. Each company will retain its name, and management teams across both firms will continue to serve their existing clients. Meanwhile, clients will benefit from the increased back-office capacity offered by the alliance of the two firms.

Both SCS and CAMS are armed with the coveted Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC) designation from the national Community Associations Institute (CAI), demonstrating their commitment to providing the unique and diverse services that community associations need – all the while ensuring that staff have the skills and experience to succeed.

“Over the years, SCS has maintained a close relationship with CAMS, sharing best practices, technology solutions and business strategy,” said SCS co-founder, Larry Ridlehoover. “SCS and CAMS will work together to create an expanded, capable, customer-focused community association management company that continues to exceed expectations.”

Larry Ridlehoover has led SCS since 2000 and became co-principal with Chuck Munn in 2008. Before taking the helm, Munn and Ridlehoover were involved in some of the Carolinas’ most visible and significant communities, including Sea Pines, Park West, DeBordieu, Fripp Island, Tidewater Resort and Golf Club, Lake Carolina and more. SCS has offices in Spartanburg, Columbia and Charleston, S.C.

“SCS is a perfect fit with CAMS,” says owner Dave Sweyer. “We share similar business philosophies and cultural values, so blending our organizations together really creates a stronger community association management company.”

Founded in 1991 by current president Mike Stonestreet and joined by CEO Dave Sweyer, CAMS is one of the most successful community association management firms in the Southeast region. CAMS currently operates offices across North and South Carolina.
